Meet Maryjane Cerrone, CNS
Originally from Middleport, Pennsylvania, Maryjane graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from DeSales University. After a number of years as a registered nurse, she went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy University. Now, she is board certified in pain management nursing and licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Maryjane was initially drawn to nursing because of the different opportunities available within the nursing field. She took advantage of some of these opportunities and continued her education to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist because she enjoys patient interaction and a broader scope of practice. Prior to working at OAA Orthopaedic Specialists, Maryjane worked as a clinical research coordinator for pain management research and was also clinical research supervisor.
When asked about providing quality care, Maryjane stated: “I have always practiced medicine as I, or as my family or friends, would want to be treated. I try to make the patient feel as though they are a part of the care I provide them.” Maryjane enjoys providing quality patient care at OAA Orthopaedic Specialists. “I have worked in pain management for over fifteen years, and being able to work with the pain management team at OAA has enabled me to provide collaborative care and expand my role as a clinical nurse specialist.”
When not helping patients manage their pain Maryjane enjoys spending time with family and friends and exercising. She particularly enjoys biking, running, walking, and CrossFit.
