Shefin Mathew, originally from the Morristown, NJ area. He has always known from a young age he wanted to go into medicine, as most of his family members are in the healthcare field. After doing a lot of research and understanding the profession, he chose to become a physician assistant. He played many sports growing up and wants to continue that passion by helping those get back to doing what they love.
Shefin, a graduate of Kings College in Wilkes Barre, will be joining OAA as a Physician Assistant within our Sports Medicine Institute. He will be a great addition to our Sports Medicine group with a focus on the Shoulder, Knee and Elbow. He truly enjoys working with each individual patient to create a treatment plan and following through completion to help them drastically improve.
“I am glad I joined the OAA team as I can provide patients with the quality of time that other major hospital systems may not allow,” said Shefin. He believes that with this practice he can fully involve the patient in their medical decisions and also offer a multitude of options that best benefit their needs in their own time.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also plays some basketball or more recently started playing pickleball.
