Joel Ninos has been a practicing Physical Therapist for the last 36 years specializing in Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation. He received his undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy, and Master’s degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988 and 1992 respectively. A native of Pittsburgh, Joel moved to the Lehigh Valley in 1992 and became a member of the OAA Physical Therapy staff in 1994. During his time with OAA, he has been able to continually work as a member of the OAA Physician/ PT treatment team that has led the way in great patient surgical and rehabilitation outcomes over all those years.
In 2006, Joel became the first APTA Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. He has been a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well a column editor and writer for their national journal. He has had the opportunity to rehabilitate 19 Olympic cyclists, in addition to 1000’s of local high school and college athletes. Joel’s youngest son wrestled for Northampton and later became an All-American wrestler at Ithaca College. Being so close with the sport of wrestling for 14 years, Joel’s specific knowledge in the rehabilitation of wrestlers and their injuries is unsurpassed in the Lehigh Valley. Additionally, his 36 years of clinical experience has allowed him to become highly experienced in the treatment of all sports and orthopedic injuries involving the shoulder, elbow, knee, hip, foot/ankle, and spine. His continual communication with the OAA Physicians allows him to maximize a patient’s rehabilitation outcomes and return to sports and competition as quickly and safely as possible.
